Turkey club invites Alex Asamoah and Samed Oppong

Samed Oppong of King Faisal will travel with Asante Kotoko’s Alex Asamoah by the end of next week to Turkey where a top club side is ready with an offer for the two strikers. Karsiyaka Spor Kubulu (KSK) which got relegated from the Turkish top flight are keen on a swift return and have targeted the two Ghanaian hitmen to come and lead that adventure.

According to the players’ agent, a deal has already been struck for Asamoah but Samed Oppong will need to sort out final details of a contract also ready on the table. With the start of the new European season less than three weeks away, KSK officials are keen on getting the two strikers to train and get acquainted with their purported new teammates.

In fact, the club have already started working on accommodating the two Ghanaians, with the Turkish press already hyping up the imminent arrival of their new players from West Africa.

Alex Asamoah joined Kotoko from Ashantigold for a mouth-watering 200,000 US Dollars this same time last year. The former Berekum Arsenals forward paid back his huge price tag by netting 16 goals for the Porcupine Warriors and also win the league’s goalking in his first season. At 23, many believe the time is right for him to make the move to Europe.

King Faisal’s Samed Oppong is another forward player known for his immense dribbling skills and goal scoring ability. He has been very influential to Faisal’s good run and subsequent top 4 finish in the just concluded 2008/09 Glo Premier League season. Samed Oppong was a member of the Black Starlets side their played at the 2005 U-17 World Cup in Peru and also represented Ghana at the Toulon U-20 tournament two years later.

Now both players are set to join the soccer exodus badwagon. Depending on their visa acquisition documentation successes, the two players may fly out of the country within the week for a journey to play football in Europe. Their destination: Karsiyaka Spor Kubulu in Turkey.
