Asante Kotoko interim coach Michael Osei was short of words in describing his side’s unexpected 1-0 win at Hearts of Oak in the Ghana Premier League derby on Monday.

Osei’s game plan worked to perfection as underdog side rose to the occasion to upset the favourites at the Accra Sports Stadium.

Hearts goalkeeper Abdoulaye Soulama scored an own goal to condemn his side and had to send off for last-man tackle on 63 minutes.

Kotoko had earlier in the 30th minute been reduced to ten men after defender Edwin Tuffour picked up a second yellow card.

Osei has now improved to three wins and one defeat since taking charge of the team last month after head coach David Duncan was told to step aside.

"It’s amazing. I will only congratulate my guys (players). They have done a very fantastic job," Osei said.

"This season has been a very difficult for us and such game we win…It’s amazing. Thank you."

Kotoko next host Ebusua Dwarfs at the Baba Yara Stadium on Sunday.
