Super Eagles play Togo today

NIGERIA’s Super Eagles are scheduled to play their Togolese counterparts, The Hawks in an international friendly encounter in Lome today.

The match which is being played at the instance of the Super Eagles is to test their preparedness for their crucial Group B World Cup qualifier against the Black Stars in Accra on Sunday.

The 18-man all-professional Nigerian squad began camping for Sunday’s game in Lome last Monday.

The team is, however, expected to arrive in the country tomorrow to finalise preparations for Sunday’s duel.

Meanwhile, the local based Black Stars squad is also responding well to their training schedule at their Agona Swedru base.

A chat with Stars head, Jones Attuquayefio, last Tuesday revealed that he is in no mood to add any foreign-based players to his team for Sunday’s titanic clash against the Super Eagles.

The Stars are expected to play two trial matches against some local teams tomorrow and Friday to fine-tune for Sunday’s assignment.
