Sunderland reject permanent Muntari deal

Sulley Muntari will head back to Inter Milan this month, with Sunderland ready to reject the chance to sign him permanently.

The on-loan midfielder has not done enough to win an £8million switch on what would be club-record wages, so boss Steve Bruce will look elsewhere in a major summer of rebuilding.

Muntari, who commands wages of £80k a week in Milan, will be followed out of the door by fellow Ghana star John Mensah.

The defender's injury record has ruined any chance of his loan from Lyon being made permanent.
