Stevanovic sticks by Kwarasey

Ghana coach Goran Stevanovic has backed his under-fire goalkeeper Adam Kwarasey to deliver at the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations.

The Serbian said the 24-year-old has only conceded one goal so far in the tournament and that it would be unfair to criticise him, in response to claims that he cannot handle aerial balls.

Stevanovic said the injured goalkeeper will be fielded if he is declared fit, however, he believes the 2009 Under-20 World Cup winner Daniel Agyei can also hold the fort if necessary.

"If you saw the match against Guinea, Adam Kwarasey conceded one goal casually," Stevanovic told the Ghana FA website.

"But Kwarasey saved two clear goals. If you don't know, watch again."

"For that I believe in Adam Kwarasey. But for now, he is a bit injured and if he cannot play, I believe in Daniel Agyei."

Ghana will face North African nation Tunisia on Sunday in the quarter-final stage.
