Stephen Appiah Arrives For Nigerian Match

AC PARMA star, Stephen Appiah, arrived last night to join his colleagues for Ghana's World Cup qualifier against Nigeria which will take place in Accra on Sunday. His arrival was shocking, after Coach Jones' declaration to use only home based players and ignore the foreign based in his selection list.

Another foreign-based player, Udinese defender, Mohammed Gargo who after the African Cup of Nations 2000 co-hosted by Ghana and Nigeria decided to stay off the senior national team, the Black Stars, is expected to join the team as officials are still holding negotiations with him to rescind his decision and come down for the game.

Its not yet known as to why Cecil Jones Attuquayefio invited Stephen Appiah and is also in talks with Mohammed Gargo after his bold declaration to rely solely on the home-based players. This decision has put Jones' job on the line should he lose against Nigeria who are expected to parade most of their foreign-based players.

Meanwhile, Agyeman Duah is down with a groin injury and it is not yet known if he will join the team.

The Black Stars are expected to move from their Swedru base in the Central Region to Accra on Saturday for the game on Sunday.
