Stars should go for a win and not draw against Togo - Afranie

Experienced Ghanaian coach EK Afranie says Black Stars cannot afford to go into the game against Togo with the mind set of picking up only a point.

The Black Stars will seal qualification for next year’s Africa Cup of Nations if they avoid defeat in today’s qualifier.

But Afranie says it will be slippery to go into the game against Togo with a mind-set of picking up a draw.

“We have to go for all three points not one. In games like this you always go for the safe option and what is that option? It is picking up all three points,” Afranie said.

“What will happen if we are playing for a draw and late on the team concedes a penalty what do you say.

“It’s better we go for the safest option and that is winning the game from the start.”

Ghana lead Group E with 8 points; one more than Uganda and Guinea and third place Togo have six points.
