Stars Beaten Yet Again

The Black Stars lost 1-0 to a Lavanttal select side yesterday in a warm-up match. The Lavanttal selection was composed of players from four Austrian first division clubs: SK St.Andr?, Wolfsberger AC/St. Andr? and ATSV Wolfsberg. Most players were from Wolfsberger AC.

Striker Fladerer, who caused a lot of havoc in the Ghanaian defence, eventually scored the only goal in the 23rd minute from a header off a free-kick. The Black Stars had very few chances at goal in the second half, but could not score.

1,500 spectators attended the game; among them were prominent locals such as the mayor of the city, LR Dr. Schantl. Proceeds from the game will go to the Soccer School Lavanttal created by Dietmar Riegler in Ghana.
