Sportive beat Power in Jubilee Match

Ho, March 7, GNA - Tema-based Real Sportive on Tuesday beat Power FC 2-1 in their Golden Jubilee Independence commemorative football encounter at the Ho Sports Stadium.

Sportive's Jacob Quao capitalized on a defensive blunder by Lawrence Quaye in posts for Power to head home a re-bound for the opener in the 24th minute.

Sportive held on to the lead to end the first half. After the recess, Power improved their game plan and got the equalizer in the 66th minute through Arafat Tcharon who latched on a loose ball in Sportive's goal area to beautifully tap into the net. Two minutes later, Sportive's Mohammed Yakubu tailored a long shot to punish Power's inconsistent keeper Quaye who came out of the posts to give Sportive the match winner.

In the dying minutes of the game, Power played their hearts out in an effort to cancel lead but Adams Stephen in post for Sportive thwarted all their effort till the end of proceedings.
