Sport Juvenile Galander - 14 gala competition ends in Tamale

Tamale, July 23, GNA - Young Kotoko last Saturday beat Hearts Babies 2-0 to emerge as champions in an Under-14 gala competition played at the Kaladan Park in Tamale. The purpose of the competition was to begin the 2003 Under 14-league season. Young Kotoko beat Young Meteors 3-0 on penalties at the preliminary stage; beat Great Heroes 1-0 at the quarter final and thrashed Great Eagles 2-0 at the semi finals. Hearts Babies on the other hand defeated Garrison Babies 2-1 at the quarter finals and threshed Real Republicans 4-3 on penalties to qualify for the finals before losing to Young Kotoko. In all 12 teams took part in the competition. This is how they fared:

Last week Great Eagles beat Real Republicans 8-7 on penalties to lift the Under-17 championship trophy at the same venue.
