Serie A clubs track Dede

Ghana are through to the quarter-finals of the World Cup and Italian clubs are already tracking Andre Ayew, reveals his agent. The midfielder doesn’t turn 21 until December, but has been a key figure in the Black Stars’ progress and played in all four games.

He already has Serie A links, as his father Abedi Pelé starred for Torino from 1994 to 96, while his uncle Kwame Ayou was at Lecce from 1993 to 95.

“Will he follow in their footsteps? That depends on the offers that come in,” agent Luca Pagani told Goal.com.

“What I can say is that there are interested clubs and it’s only to be expected. This lad has everything: youth, quality and character. Have you seen the way he is approaching this World Cup? He’s not afraid of anything.”

Ayew is owned by Marseille, but his contract expires in 2011 and he was sent to the second division side Arles-Avignon on loan this term.

Among the clubs interested in his services are Sampdoria, Genoa, Fiorentina and Palermo.
