Satellites for President Gbagbo Reward

Members of Ghana's Under-20 Fifa World Cup winning team will leave for Ivory Coast on 28 December to meet President Laurent Gbagbo.

The Ivorian President promised to reward the Black Satellites for their historic feat of becoming the African country to lift the World Youth Championship trophy. An Ivorian Presidential jet will expected in Accra on 28 December to fly members of the team to Abidjan for a presidential reception.

Players that will be named in Ghana's Africa Cup of Nations squad will be the only absentees out of the 34-member contingent that were in Egypt for the tournament.

Back home, the Reward Committtee set by Ghana President John Evans Atta Mills realized 200,000 Ghana cedis from donations and will round up its work next week.
