Sarpei to miss Stuttgart game

VfL Wolfsburg manager, Klaus Fox, announced at a press conference on Thursday (20.04.06) that defender Hans Sarpei cannot be released by the club to play for Ghana against VfB Stuttgart because of injuries to some of his squad's players.

"Hans's has reacted professionally to the decision and has accepted", explained Fox .

Sarpei has been called to play for Ghana on Wednesday April 26th in W?burg.

Sarpei: "I would have welcomed the chance to establish myself in our national team, but the situation at VfL Wolfsburg is a difficult one. Several key players are out injured and the club didn't want to draw more another one"

Sarpei says that it is difficult to think about the World Cup at the moment. Sarpei again: "I am fully concentrating on my job with my club. We have several crucial games ahead of us so I am only thinking game by game."
