Sarfo-Gyamfi set to leave Maritzburg

Ghana youth midfielder Frank Sarfo Gyamfi is eyeing a loan move from Maritzburg United after being reduced to surplus to requirement.

The club is not too clear about his future with the chairman Farook Kadodia saying, “He is still with us for now but we are weighing up our options based on the fact that he is a foreign player.”

The 20-year-old winger insists his club must soften their demands to save his career with clubs seriously on his heels.

“I’m ready to play for any team who are interested in me. It can be in South Africa, Ghana or any part of the world,” Gyamfi told Goal Ghana.

He added: “I really want to play football whether on loan or on permanent deal but the problem is that my club [Maritzburg United] is not ready to pay any part of my wages when I'm on loan as many clubs want me which has made it difficult for them to sign me.

“I believe when it is sorted out, I will start playing happily and actively and hopefully achieve my aims.”

The former Wa All Stars midfielder came close to joining Ghana top-flight champions Asante Kotoko last season but the deal fell through and returned to Maritzburg in South Africa. He was part of the Ghana Under-20 team who won bronze at the 2013 Fifa U20 World Cup in Turkey.
