Accra, April 6, GNA - The President of the Supporters Union of Ghana (SUGHA) and Coalition of Supporters Union of Africa, (COSUA) Sarfo Abrebrese has been named as the 93Exceptional Man of the Month" by a United States Magazine, 93Exceptional People", for the month of March and April.

Abrebrese, a former TV Sports commentator becomes the first Ghanaian to be named in the prestigious 'Who is Who' event listing of the world's most 'exceptional people' for their contribution to humanity.

He was among five people selected for the bi-monthly edition of March/April with his profile on the cover of Part One of the magazine alongside Christopher Fomunyoh of Cameroon, and two American lady-celebrities, Rebel Brown and Amy Nakos.

The Ghanaian, who doubles as an attorney of the New York Supreme Court, was mentioned in the editorial of the magazine with Della Reese of 93Touched by an Angel" fame for special mention for daring to step out of their comfort zones to champion pioneering roles fraught with dangers to themselves.

Aside of the cover photo, the magazine features another full-page colour photo of Abebrese and a five-page interview segment dedicated to the Ghanaian and his Pan African Sports Support group, the Coalition of Supporters Unions of Africa (COSUA), which was founded in Ghana in 2006.

It is believed that every month, over 500 nominees are selected from all over the world, screened through an interview process and short-listed before finally choosing three of them as the eventual winners.

In an interview with the media, Sarfo, currently based in the U.S conducting meetings with potential COSUA funders, said he shares the honour with all Ghanaians, especially those who suffered and underwent all forms of suppression with him during the formative years of COSUA and the Supporters Union of Ghana (SUGHA).

Abebrese paid tribute to the entire COSUA membership and leadership in Ghana and all over Africa, assuring them that their sacrifices were about to be rewarded and urged them to take inspiration from the magazine's banner headline for COSUA: COSUA has since then grown and has its presence in 22 African countries, winning the support of national governments and regional bodies like ECOWAS and the African Union.

Over the years, highly influencial political leaders like U.S. First Lady, Michelle Obama, multi-billion businessmen like Pepsi Worldwide CEO, Indra Nooyi, as well as celebrity actors and actresses have won nominations to be featured on the front covers of the highly influential bi-monthly magazine in the U.S.

Other influential magazines like the 'New African', published in London, have also endorsed Abrebrese and COSUA in 2007 and 2008 editions, likewise the media of over 20 African countries where he has toured so far, preaching the gospel of African unity through sports. 06 April 2011
