Roma confirm Barusso capture

Roma have confirmed the co-ownership signing of Ahmed Barusso from Serie B side Rimini.

The 22-year-old Ghanaian had already agreed to a five-year deal in June, but some details still needed to be finalised and the official announcement was postponed until now.

“AS Roma confirm that they have found an agreement with Rimini for the transfer of Ahmed Apimah Barusso for £2.4m, to be paid in three instalments,” read a note on the Giallorossi website.

The two clubs also agreed to a co-ownership deal worth £1.2m, which Roma will pay to Rimini over the next three years, while the player penned a five-year contract worth £3.3m.

Barusso, known as Ciro to his friends, fractured his tibia and fibula in October, but is now close to a complete recovery.

The midfielder, who caught the eye of Milan, Inter, Arsenal and Tottenham last season, was decisive in helping Manfredonia win triple promotion from the amateur Leagues to Serie C1.
