Razak calls off France trip

The Professional League Board’s decision to call all sixteen premier league clubs into action to honour the 6th week matches of the Kinapharma Premier League has compelled Asante Kotoko head coach, Abdul Razak to cancel his scheduled trip to France to support his pal, Roger Milla who would be honoured in the French city of Lyon this weekend.

The cancellation came at a time processing of Razak’s travel documents had gathered momentum at the French Embassy in Accra.

Razak told Kotoko Express in a short interview that his decision to stay is basically to enable him perform the duties he has been hired by Kotoko to do.

“Due to the then scheduled break of the league by the PLB, I accepted Roger Milla’s invitation to accompany him on a day that he would be receiving an award in France. But now that there has been a change in the PLB’s programmes, I have to stay to do what I get paid to do”.

Prior to the commencement of the African Cup of Nations staged in Ghana and Nigeria in 2000, Abdul Razak alongside Roger Milla and other African football legends were honoured by the Confederation of African Football but this weekend Roger Milla alone would be honoured but he considered it a great delight to have Razak beside him while he receives the award.

It would be recalled that the Kotoko Express last Wednesday reported that the Kotoko coach would be leaving for France this weekend.
