Rahim Ayew close to France move

Ghana international midfielder Rahim Ayew is set to move to France next season, Goal Ghana can reveal.

Ayew has agreed by mutual consent not to renew his contract with Lierse SK when it expires at the end of the season.

The 25-year-old has told Goal that he has received many offers, but it is likely he will be playing next term in the French Ligue 2.

“So many offers are on the table, but I can’t disclose the clubs now because we are still trying to sort out the one which will make me get more playing time to enjoy my football,” Ayew said.

"Currently, it looks very likely I will be playing in France when the season starts but Portugal is also in consideration so I hope everything goes well as planned.”

The midfielder added: “I had injury problems this season but managed to bounce back and helped the team in vital games which I’m very pleased with but currently I’m looking ahead to next season which I think will only get better.”

Rahim has made 21 appearances this season including 18 Jupiler League games and three cup matches.

The ex-Zamalek midfielder who signed for SK Lierse in January 2011 is currently on holidays in Spain with on-loan Ghana international Michael Essien.
