RTU-Goldfields Protest Take New Look

Contrary to assertion by the officials of Real Tamale United that their protest against Goldfields is going to be a ‘cool-chop’, the soccer miners have painted a different picture making the issue more complicated for RTU.

An official of Goldfields who spoke to Space Fm on condition of anonymity, after the preliminary hearing of the case yesterday said RTU has no case and could have better used their protest fee for something else.

When questioned by this reporter why Goldfields seem to have the ‘pleasant desire’ to loose points on disciplinary grounds, the official retorted “Do you think we are father Christmas?, never again!”

A painstaking investigation by Space Fm revealed that the Ministry of Interior issued Goldfields with an authority note for work permit from Ghana Immigration Service on the 17th July, 2003 whilst the player was registered by Goldfields on the 18th July, 2003.The player featured for Goldfields on the 23rd July, 2003 in the 7th week league match played at Obuasi in which the miners won by 4-0.

The stage is set for very interesting battle since RTU is adamant that the issuance of the authority note could not be a substitute for the work permit which was issued on 25th July, 2003.

The big that remains unanswered is that; if the argument of RTU is anything to go by, then why did GFA register the player in the first place?

Stay tuned for startling revelations!
