Premier League to finish on schedule

Accra, Jan. 6, GNA - The Premier League Board (PLB) has

assured that the curtains of the 2010/2011 Glo Premier League will

go down according to schedule. The League is expected to end on 22 May 2011, and the PLB

Boss, Welbeck Abra-Appiah has assured that the deadline will be

respected. The PLB Chairman told GNA Sports in Accra that his outfit

has made room for other exigency in reaching the finishing point

for the Premier League. The Chairman explained that allocations have been made for

major competitions such as the African Nations Championships

(CHAN), 2012 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers as well as the

engagement of Ghanaian Clubs in the continental club

championships, namely CAF Champions League and CAF

Confederation Cup. The reintroduction of the Super Cup, he assured will not in any

way hamper the programmed schedule. Abra-Appiah added that the current season will serve a perfect

platform for the much-publicized synchronization of the football

calendar with that of Europe which was adopted few years ago.
