Power FC beat Unique FC in a friendly

Ho, Aug. 14, GNA - Power FC, a Premier Division team took advantage of their new home support to beat Unique FC of Accra 3-1 at Ho Sports Stadium on Sunday.

The game which formed part of Power FC's warm up matches lines towards this year's premiership saw the two teams displaying good football but lacking the right finishing to score goals. It was however Unique FC who got the opener through a spot kick in the 50th minute when their striker Innocent Timothy slotted in the ball after team mate Sulemana Yakubu was brought down in the 18 yard box. Unique FC came close to scoring again two minutes later but the timely intervention of Power FC's goalkeeper Cudjoe Addo saved the sticky situation.

Power FC who enjoyed an appreciable home support, re-organised their game plan and managed to get the equaliser in the 61st minute with a long range shot delivered by left winger Solomon Adjei. The equaliser gingered them to search for more goals and they rightly went ahead to increase the tally courtesy Jonathan Abeiku through a spot kick after he was (Abeiku) brought down in the box. In the dying minutes of the game, Nii Aryee of Power FC capitalised on a defensive blunder by the defence of the Unique FC to blast home a swift shot past keeper Amadu Saluo in post for Unique FC to the admiration of the vociferous fans.

Awudu Ronaldo of Power FC and Ernest Tsikudo of Unique were booked for simualtion and tackling from behind respectively.
