Potterfield?s Appointment Approved by Kotoko Board

Media speculation of a conflict between the Board of Directors and management of Kumasi Asante Kotoko over the appointment of Coach Ian Potterfield has been laid to rest. This follows the Board?s approval of a one-year contract for the Scotsman subject to renewal upon performance. A statement from the Board Chairman of Asante Kotoko, Paul Victor Obeng also confirmed the appointment Berekum Arsenals Coach, Emmanuel Quarshie as the Assistant to Ian Potterfield.

The Board and Management of Kotoko have agreed to work hand in hand to ensure that the Board is better informed about the day to day running of the club.

Meanwhile, Chief Executive of Asante Kotoko, Herbert Mensah has reiterated his position to quit at the end of the season. This is inspite of the ironing out of differences between the Management and the Board, which has enjoyed a lot of publicity in the media. Herbert Mensah however says his decision to quit is not hinged on differences between Board and the management.
