Polo Supports Ex-Gratia Proposal For Old Stars

Former Black stars and Hearts of Oak winger, MOHAMMED ‘THE DRIBBLER’ POLO has expressed the need for the welfare of the former national team soccer players to be catered for.

Polo who was part of the victorious Black Stars team of 1978 touched on the hardships some former players go through after retiring from active soccer. Speaking to Space fm sports, in Tarkwa, he stressed the need for former players to be well supported.

He also raised aspirations as to the joining together of the Retired Footballers Association and the Professional Footballers’ Association of Ghana.(PFAG) He said, “ if we come together as a unit under one umbrella, then such a proposal may yield better fruit”.

He spoke in relation to an earlier story carried on Ghanasoccernet by Tony Baffoe on the idea of giving ex-gratia to retired black stars players. Tony Baffoe is the general secretary of PFAG.
