Opoku-Nti & Ebo Mends To Coach Kotoko

Kumasi Asante Kotoko are expected to confirm the coaching duo of Opoku Nti and Ebo Mends as substantive coaches for the club ending weeks of speculation.

The duo, both former national players who featured for the porcupine warriors during their playing days have been based abroad for some years now.

Kotoko?s CEO Major (rtd) Yaw Larson according to Joy Sports sources settled on the two former players following the dismissal of German Hans Dieter Schmidt early last month after the club failed to annex the confederation cup.

The appointment of the coaching duo is been held up due to concerns raised over who heads the technical bench amongst the two.

Joy Sports investigations has revealed that the more experienced Ebo Mends might be named the technical head among the two.

Ebo Mends last technical duties with Asante Kotoko was in 1999 when he was appointed by the then Herbert Mensah administration but later lost his job.

An interim technical team headed by the club?s technical director, Malik Jabir, is presently handling Asante Kotoko.
