Olympics terminate Chief Executive's appointment

Accra, June 3, GNA - Relegated Accra Great Olympics have terminated the appointment of the Chief Executive Officer of the Club, George Afriyie with immediate effect.

A statement signed by John K.E. Ezdie, Board Secretary of the Club copied to GNA Sports said the Management team has also been dissolved. It said the Board will continue however to take charge of the day-to-day administration of the Club until new structures are put in place. "The new structures will include the appointment of an Administrative Manager with the full complement of a Secretariat to help with the day-to-day administration of the Club."

Mr Edzie added that the Board has also dissolved the technical team but Isaac Acquaye has been confirmed as the head coach whilst other members of the technical team will be named in due course. He also assured the Club's followers that the much awaited private floatation of shares is near completion and will be floated in June this year.

Olympics were relegated after the just ended season after placing 13th in the 16-club Premier League standings. It is the third time in less than five years that the 'Wonder Club' of Ghana football have been relegated from the top flight.
