Olympics aim at corporate sponsorship

Accra Great Olympics have their eyes on corporate sponsorship deals to ease the huge financial burden that the current administration shoulders in its redemption crusade.

Mr Richard Oblitei Solomon, chairman of the management committee of the club said they could only realise that objective if the club is administered in an open and transparent manner and good results are achieved to attract of corporate organisations.

He told the GNA Sports that it would be necessary for all the structures of the club to function appropriately to achieve results that would translate into the overall success of the team and accelerate the drive for sponsorship.

"As management committee members, it is important for us to ensure that the day to day administration of the club goes on unhindered and it must be done with all transparency in order to cultivate the confidence of business community and the supporters."

Mr Solomon said in the same vein the Board of Directors must also be active to their responsibilities, while the playing body and the technical team also work hard enough to justify the commitment of the administrators and their backers.

The chairman said a dignified performance from all branches of the Olympics Family would "bring the club back to the glory days and make the Great Olympics dream a reality."

He said the management committee is determined to operate within the ambit of the rules and regulations and would therefore forward the club's audited accounts to the Ghana Football Association (GFA) as soon as the Board has facilitated the process.

Mr Solomon said in order to sustain the commitment of the players, management has increased their earnings and it is hoped that when the club begins to dominate the league, it would get corporate organisations to come forward and do business Olympics and that would lead to further adjustments.

He concluded that the signals of success are getting clearer and clearer and called on supporters of the club to come out from their recess and follow the club with all enthusiasm to put it at the apex of Ghana football, adding "Olympics have been there before and with hard work and commitment we can get there again."
