Okyere Darko Joins Kotoko CEO Race

The race for the CEO position of Kumasi Asante Kotoko is getting hotter and the numbers getting larger.

Even though the Managing Director of the Ashtead group of companies and High society magazine Agoo Publisher, Kojo Bonsu is thought to be leading the race, former IMC boss Sylvester Asare Owusu is also gaining ground in the competition.

Yet a new candidate for the Kotoko top job has been announced.

He is Wilberforce Okyere Darko, a long time Kotoko steward who was team manager in 1978.

Okyere Darko has submitted his application and CV for consideration and he brings to the table a vast experience from his association with the club.

He was also Vice chairman of the club during the George Adusei Poku administration in the 1990s.

Wilberforce has only began canvassing for support but his critics say he has been around too long to fit the image Asante Kotko is looking for as its new Chief Executive.

Okyere Darko’s inclusion will not be the final point in the race for Porcupine Chief Executive.

The numbers will swell as the deadline for submission nears.
