Nuru Ahmed picked as new Black Starlets assistant coach

Recently resigned Wa All Stars head coach, Nurudeen Ahmed, has been given the nod as the new assistant to head Coach Paa Kwesi Fabin at the national U-17 male team, the Black Starlets.

He was closely chased for the role by current King Faisal assistant Prince ‘Sabuto’ Acheampong after the Ghana FA resolved not to extend the mandate of former assistant Isaac Adade Boateng despite retaining his head.

FootyGhana can reveal that Coach Nuru Ahmed’s appointment was confirmed at a Starlets’ management team meeting at the Ghana FA headquarters last Friday, where other issues relating to Ghana’s preparations towards qualifying for the 2015 African U-17 Championship in Niger were thoroughly discussed.

Bits and pieces gathered by FootyGhana indicates that new players identified by head coach Paa Kwesi Fabin from his scouting mission in the last couple of months will probably by next week Thursday be invited to Prampram to undergo screening by MRI in order to properly determine who falls within the required age bracket for the U-17s next term.

The qualifiers to the 2015 African Championship in Niger will begin in June.
