Newcastle to launch bid for Kuffour

Newcastle United are considering a move for Bayern Munich defender Sammy Kuffour. The Ghana international can leave Bayern for around ?3 million and has also been the subject of interest from Liverpool.

The Daily Star says Newcastle boss Sir Bobby Robson is eyeing Kuffour as a replacement for new Real Madrid signing Jonathan Woodgate.
