New Edubiase, Ashanti Gold Raise Issues Over Glo G8 Appearance Fees

Footyghana.com understands that New Edubiase United is threatening to pull out of the ongoing Glo G8 Cup unless its appearance fee is paid.
The fee, an estimated GH¢40,000 which is supposed to be paid to every club has not been paid as of now. The management of the Bekwai-based club has indicated that if by Thursday the appearance fee is not paid, the club will not make the journey to Sekondi to honour its semifinal against Medeama SC.
When contacted, Ashanti Gold’s Chief Executive Kudjo Fianoo told footyghana.com that no club had been paid the appearance fee, adding that his club is writing a letter to the Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA) to the effect that should the payments not occur, Ashanti Gold will discontinue its participation in the competition.
Ashanti Gold are scheduled to play against Berekum Chelsea in Sunyani on Wednesday in the competition’s first semifinal.
When footyghana.com contacted the Interim GHALCA Chairman Alhaji Ali Raji, he noted that GHALCA will honour all payments by tomorrow to enable the competition to continue
