Muntari Played Out Of Position?

Udinese coach Giovanni Galeone has challenged his board to dismiss him after Saturday's 3-1 victory over Cagliari.

"Galeone continues to field the wrong formation, playing Sulley Ali Muntari and Diaz Felipe out of their natural roles," slammed Udinese president Giampaolo Pozzo.

"The Ghanaian is not a midfield director, but he continues to play there and so Muntari is regularly sent off. It's the same for Felipe, everyone knows he is a central defender, but Galeone keeps playing him out of position."

Muntari was dismissed just before half-time - for the third time this season - yet Udinese went on to beat Cagliari 3-1.

"Muntari is a central midfielder, but when he was sent off he was on the left," responded the Coach.

"I admit his red card was my fault, though, as I'd just told him to play one or two touches at most so he could spark a counter-attack. He kept losing the ball in midfield and got angry. It's just his character, I can't do anything about that."

"Having said that, the President knows me and I know him. If I am no longer wanted at Udinese then he just has to tell me. There's no problem."
