Muntari In England To Complete Transfer

Sulley Muntari is reportedly on his way to England to complete his transfer from Italian side Udinese to Harry Redknapp’s Portsmouth in a deal believed to be in the region of £7million – a club record for Pompey.

Udinese general director Roberto Zanzi said: "We have been negotiating with Portsmouth for the permanent transfer of Sulley Muntari to the English club.

"The negotiations have advanced and we have allowed the player to go to England to discuss his personal terms."

Redknapp, who has made his first summer signing with defender Sylvain Distin on a free-transfer, had said on Wednesday: "I think we are very close.

"We are hopeful we can get it done very soon. I have watched him for over a year and at just 22, he is a fantastic player."
