Might Jets deny accusation

Accra, July 4, gna- Tudu Mighty Jets Football Club on Friday rejected claims by the Professional League Board (PLB) that the club was responsible for the delay in the execution of its programmes stressing that the assertion is not correct. A statement signed by Mr James Oyedeji, General Manager of the Club, in reaction to a circular of the PLB to football clubs strongly rejected a clause which said, " The prolonged litigation between Mighty Jets and the Football Association over the relegation of the latter, saw the programme of the Professional League Board jolted to the discomfiture of all Stakeholders."

The statement claimed that there was no litigation between Tudu Mighty Jets and the Ghana Football Association over any relegation exercise saying, " in fact the GFA is not and has not been a party to any dispute between Clubs in terms of protests and appeals during the FA's 2002 Division One League and in any competitions." " Tudu Mighty Jets are not litigants. We believe in justice and fair play. We know definitely that at any time that we play on a level playing field, we shall hopefully achieve good results." " Our premiership status can only be delayed and not prevented; and deducting points won on the field of play in the boardroom is a disincentive to investment in sports," the statement added.
