Kotoko assistant coach Michael Osei has has decried the poor state of the Baba Yara stadium pitch ahead of the start of the new season.

The Porcupine Warriors begin the 2015/16 campaign with a difficult away tie at WAFA on February 21.

But ahead of what appears to be difficult fixtures for the Porcupine Warriors, assistant coach Michael Osei is worried about the playing surface of their home ground.

“This is one of the major problems we face in Ghana and we must address the situation because it results in a lot of injuries," said

“We all witnessed the injury to Dauda Mohammed and its a situation which could have been avoided.

“If we don’t address these things as soon as possible it will result in more injuries."

Kotoko recorded a 2-0 win over Bechem United in their latest pre-season friendly last Sunday.
