Mensah ready for the Black Stars

Ghanaian international footballer, William Mensah, has expressed his desire and readiness to play for the Senior National Team, the Black Stars.

The 28 year old versatile defender of Egyptian club, Wadi Degla made this known in an exclusive interview with Truce Communications.

In 2009, William Mensah was called to join the Black Stars Team in preparation for the 2010 African Cup of Nations and World Cup, but due to injury, he couldn’t feature in any of the games.

Former Black Stars Coach, Milovan Rajevac, at the time described William Mensah as an excellent and remarkable player who expertise was needed in the Ghana Black Stars Team, an accreditation he still believes is very true.

According to Mensah, the Egyptian league is tough and very competitive and can be compared to any of the tough leagues in the world.

He featured regularly for Wadi Degla last season since his move from Lierse in Belgium at the beginning of the season and was very instrumental in the success chalked by Wadi Degla.

He wishes to replicate his performance at club level to the Ghana National Team, whenever he is called.

He entreated the football authorities and the selectors of the Ghana National Team to cast their net wide by considering players plying their trade at home and other African countries, especially Egypt.
