Goaso, (B/A) Oct. 28, GNA - The midfield general of the World Cup U-20 soccer champions the Black Satellites, Emmanuel Agyeman Badu has said that the victory of the team "was not by might or any prophecy but rather the will and Spirit of God".

The World Cup winner was speaking in a live interview on two private radio stations, Nananom FM and Success FM, at Goaso in the Brong Ahafo Region after he had set the District capital agog with men, women and children dancing and drumming in the principal streets to welcome him as part of his thanksgiving tour of the Region.

Agyeman Badu whose last penalty kick secured victory for the Ghanaian team against all conquering Brazil in Egypt is a native of Seikwa in the Tain District where the icing was put on the cake to secure NDC's victory in the last December's Presidential election.

He emphasised that Ghana's victory was not "through the instrumentality of any Prophet as claimed but it was through hard work, dedication, good management and above all motivation by the government".

The U-20 star said he saw his penalty kick as the last of the tournament so he prayed to the Almighty God who rightly guided him to slot the ball to the back of the net to secure Ghana's victory.

"Every destiny is not in the hands of any prophet or prophetess and even if God does anything through them the glory should go to Him and no one else", he said.

Agyeman Badu thanked Ghanaians and the people of the Brong Ahafo Region in particular for their immense contributions to the success of the Satellites and called for continued prayers for him to realize his life's ambition.

He later paid a courtesy call on Nana Kwasi Bosomprah, Omanhene of Goaso Traditional Area at his Palace and he was advised to be obedient and to respect his managers as well as being committed to all that engages in.
