Medeama to face Zambia's Zesco United

Medeama SC will battle Zesco United of Zambia at the round of 16 of the Orange Confederations Cup competition after edging past Maghreb de Fez last Saturday on a 4-2 aggregate.

Though the Tarkwa-based club lost to their Moroccan opponents, their 3-0 win in the first leg at the Sekondi Stadium at Essipon was enough cushion for Medeama to progress to the next stage for a date with the Zambians.

Medeama are currently Ghana's lone representative in continental honours after the elimination of Kumasi Asante Kotoko, Berekum Chelsea and Ebusua Dwarfs from African competitions.

Medeama now turn their attention to domestic football where they play host to Accra Hearts of Oak tomorrow in an outstanding First Capital Plus Premier League match at the Tarkwa T&A Park.
