Matthew Amoah rules out retirement

Former Ghana striker Matthew Amoah says his career is not over and aims to sign for a new club during the January transfer window.

Amoah has been without a club since leaving Eredivisie side Heracles last summer.

The 34-year-old has been training with his former side NAC Breda to stay fit before the transfer window re-opens. Amoah insists he is not thinking of retiring and will sign for a new club in two months’ time.

“My career is not over yet. My agent is to see if we can find something,” Amoah said.

“In the winter I want to join a club. Preferably in the Netherlands. Belgium is also possible. Eredivisie or first division makes no difference to me.

“So I train myself to stay in shape. Going abroad (Belgium excluded) I only go if I can sign for two years because one season is so over. I want to continue to play a couple of years.”
