Marcel Tells Ghana To Get Serious

Ghanaian born French player, Marcel Desailly, has urged the nation to adopt a very serious approach to preparations for the Germany 2006 World Cup finals. Desailly is currently in Ghana for a charity match that will feature most of the foreign-based players of the Black Stars and their colleagues from the sub-region.
A member of the France team that won the world cup in 1998, Desailly says the Black Stars have the potential to excel at their first world cup finals. But he maintains only good preparations will stand them in good stead for impressive results.
"I have lots of hope. And now that Ghana has qualified for the World Cup, they can make it past the first round. We have a coach who is clever and I think he can make it."
