MP supports Division Three team with football kits

Nkukua-Buoho (Ash.), June 7, GNA - The Member of Parliament (MP) for Kwabre West, Mr Emmanuel Asamoa Owusu-Ansah has donated jerseys, footballs and other sporting kits to Saryma Football Club, a Division Three football club based at Nkukua-Buoho.

Mr Owusu-Ansah said the donation forms part of efforts to help motivate the team to qualify to play in the Division Two soccer league. Mr Atta Brobbey Afriyie, a Special Assistant of the MP, handed the items over to the management of the club at a ceremony at Nkukua-Buoho. He counselled the players to be disciplined and train vigorously to get to the top of their careers. Mr Owusu-Ansah, who is a former Ashanti Regional Minister, has also begun an exercise towards pushing the development of football in the area with the construction of football playing fields at Kodie, Bomso, Agyarko-Buoho and Aduamoa.

Mr Bismark Nkansah, the GFA District Organizer for Kwabre, said the Club did well in the just ended Third Division League, which earned them the ticket to play in the Middle League but they missed the chance to play in the Second Division. He, however, noted that with determination the team can go places when the League resumes. Mr Francis Atta Mensah and Kwadwo Bonsu, team manager and skipper of the Club thanked the MP for the gift and called for more of such support to boost the morale of the players.
