Lions Keep Roaring - Ahiakpor warns Kotoko

Soccer pundits who dubbed Heart of Lions as the prospective whipping Boys in the Kinapharma Premier League after 4 ~ 1 humiliation by King Faisal have been compelled to go back to the thinking board

Many a club would have easily sunk into oblivion having received a baptism of fire, but certainly not the PRIDE OF VOLTA. Heart of Lions quickly resurrected and put up series of scintillating performances to win most of their matches. Very unusual of debutants, Heart of Lions is enjoying a respectable position in the top ranks of the league table.

From a humble beginning, Heart of Lions has grown at an amazing pace become a big thorn in the flesh of the so-called big clubs. The club which was established to create solidarity, wee feeling and to unearth hidden talents graduated to the Premier Division in its first year at the Division One.

In an exclusive interview with SPACE FM at Sunyani, the president and the bankroller of the club, Mr. Victor Akpene Ahiakpor disclosed that his boys are highly motivated intrinsically and extrinsically to deliver on the pitch. For instance, the club can boast of ultramodern bus, club house, gym, satellite dish and high quality kits. Infact, Heart of Lions can boast of being the first Ghanaian Club to use Nike and Adidas hard wares used at Korea/Japan 2002 World Cup.

The Club has young and talented playing body with an average age of 19. Mention could be made of Abraham Kudemor, Adamu Farouk, Delight Delali Afenyo, Osei Boateng, Obed Ansah and Isaac Oduro.

On their crucial 9th week match against Kotoko, Mr. Ahiakpor was insistent that the declaration of Kpando as no-go zone is still in force irrespective of the status of the visiting team. How can one invade the Lions Den and run away with the three points, he queried. He however conceded that the match would be an extremely difficult one.
