Libyan referees for Ghana/Cape Verde match

Accra, Aug 30, GNA - Libyan match officials have been appointed by the Confederation of Africa Football (CAF) to handle the World Cup qualifying game between Ghana and Cape Verde at the Kumai Sports Stadium on Sunday.

Referee Tamouni Waheed will be in control of affairs in the middle of the pitch.

He would be assisted by El-Hawary Gamai and Otman Bashir on lines one and two with Im Hamed Mohamed as the fourth referee.

Mr Njiperdi Marsseile from Cameroon will be the Referee's Inspector with General Sey Memene as the match commissioner.

Information gathered by the GNA Sports at the secretariat of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) indicates that the appointed referees will arrive in the county on Thursday and Friday for the crucial encounter.

Ghana will seek to enhance its position in the group with a victory over the islanders in a bid to make its first historic appearance at the World Cup.
