Letter From Burkhard Ziese

Question: What at all does Burkhard Ziese wants from Ghana?

Answer: I do not want anything from Ghana, but from the GFA. Still some people believe that the GFA; THEIR COACHES AND THEIR OFFICIALS are "made and paid" by taxpayers. Wrong! the GFA makes its money from the club supporters and their gate-fees. That the GFA is still going to the the Government for financial support is ridiculous.

Look at the first round league match between Kotoko and Hearts: The gate fee was more than USD$220,000. The official gate was only around USD$120,000. Where is the rest??

But let me come back my personal issue with the GFA; The GFA gave me on 1st September 2003 a letter, which I countersigned, that my salary for the month AUGUST and SEPTEMBER 2003 had been paid on the very same day into my account. THEY HAVE NEVER PAID IT TO ME!!

I complaint to the Ministry of Youth, Education and Sports. The Ministry immediately, on 5th Sepetember, wrote a letter to the CASTLE. Nothing happened. On 15th September I sent a Telefax to the GFA and complaint about it. NO RESPOND from Kofie Nsiah or Ben Koufie!

On 13th October I sent a fax to the Ministry of Youth and Sport and informed them that nothing has been paid to me, since 1st September.

On 25 October 2003 I called the Ministry of Youth and Sports and informed them personally abouth the NON-developement of the issue.

I am still waiting without any respond from either side. So, where is the Money? Once again spent in the drain or has it gone to other pockets. Why did the GFA inform the GRAPHIC, according to their report, that the GFA has paid me up to OCTOBER 2003. Absolutely nothing has been paid. BUT I TRUST THE MINISTRY OF YOUTH AND SPORT!

Coaches are hired and fired! But certain people must learn in Ghana to understand that various parts of the mutual contract must be honoured. I belive that the present GFA wants to hand over this PROBLEM to the new GFA, after their election. For the interest of Ghana football, their spectators and the majority of Ghanaians I hope that the "OLD GUARDS WILL LEAVE THE NEW GFA; OR

BETTER THAT THE HAVE TO LEAVE THE GFA!!!
Best regard my friends!
