Let us ensure good officiating

Aworowa (B/A) Aug. 21, GNA - Mr Joseph Antwi, Chemistry tutor of the Asuogyaman Secondary Technical School in the Techiman District has appealed to the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to effectively check bad officiating at league centres.

" Bad officiating during league matches in both division one and the Kinapharma premier league is obviously killing Ghana soccer", he said in an interview with GNA Sports at Aworowa, near Techiman.

Mr Antwi said match commissioners and referees appointed selected to handle matches have failed to perform creditably to the expectation, saying this sometimes resulted in violence.

"The Kinapharma premier league is not keenly contested in view of violent acts and protests that have led to some clubs gaining points at the expense of others".

Mr Antwi blamed the GFA for mal-administration of football, saying this had contributed to the drastic fall in Ghana's reputation as a giant soccer nation.

He urged the GFA to take concrete decisions for the resuscitation of the national teams and appealed to the Minister of Education, Youth and Sports not to hesitate in sanctioning non-performing staff of the GFA.
