Lesotho coach admits Ghana overpowered Crocodiles

Lesotho coach Leslie Notsi says his side were outclassed by Ghana in the 2014 World Cup qualifier after putting up their best show.

Notsi had planned to peg back Kwesi Appiah’s side who are seeking a third successive FIFA World Cup appearance.

Ghana needed a win to move to the summit of the table after Zambia shared spoils with Sudan at home on Saturday.

But after mounting a strong challenge from the start, the Likuana were beaten 2-0 with goals from Atsu and Black Stars captain Asamoah Gyan at the Setsoto Stadium in Maseru on Sunday.

“Today we prepared well. We told ourselves that we just have to push hard,” Notsi told reporters.

“Play for the pride of the country, pride of the players. The resilience and dedication should be at their utmost best. I would say they played according to what we had planned.

“Out of this match, I am not happy that we lost, but I would say the boys really showed they wanted to win.”
