Kwadwo Asamoah Filling Appiah's Boots?

LITTLE known Kwadwo Asamoah has been given the task of filling skipper Stephen Appiah's boots during the 26th Edition of MTN Africa Nations Cup.

Four-time champs Ghana Black Stars begin their campaign against Guinea on Sunday, January 20 in Accra.

The 20 year-old Liberty Professionals striker, making his Nations Cup debut will put on the famous No. 10 shirt for Ghana Black Stars. Appiah is out injured.

The shirt is traditionally associated with star players like Abdul 'Golden Boy' Razak, Opoku Nti, Abedi Pele, C.K Akunnor and most recently Appiah.

Elsewhere, the opening ceremony on Sunday will be viewed by 4.5 billion people around the world and 15,000 tons of musical equipment will be used for the show described as the biggest and best in recent Nations Cup history.

Meanwhile, Nigeria Super Stars jetted in last night from their base in Malaga-Spain. Berti Vogts' boys have been training behind closed doors for the past five days in preparation for the crucial Group match against Ivory Coast 's Elephants on Monday in Sekondi.
