Kotoko Rubbishes Ghalca’s Decision

The management of Ghana’s premier league club, Kumasi Asante Kotoko has called the bluff of Ghalca, the organizers of the president’s cup. Ghalca has impose a fine of 10,000 Ghana cedis and a year ban on Kotoko from all its organized competition and has also referred the case to the Ghana football association for further sanctions.

This decision according to the club’s administrative manager, Benjamin Nti is rubbish. ’’Ghalca decision is rubbish”. ’’Even the so called chairman of the association has no locus’’ ‘’we are waiting for them to come for the money’ ’he lamented in an interview with iamaghanaian.com team.

For the ban, Mr. Nti stated that may be the organizers have realized that the players are tired and therefore will need some rest. He continues by saying that the even learnt from their meeting that they want their Serbian coach and their Ivorian goalkeeper deported. ’’Alhaji Raji is only trying to pursue his personal and political agenda’’ said the administrator, who also doubles as the acting communication director of Kotoko.

Ghalca decision came in the wake of Kotoko’s boycotting of medal presentation after the penalty shootouts in the president’s cup which Kotoko lost 7-6 after drawing 2:2 in the regulation time. Kotoko were not happy with decision of the referee of the day, Awal Mohammed after he ordered for a retake of a saved penalty by their opponents, Berekum Chelsea.

The behavior did not go down well with Ghalca, hence the decision. If the decission holds, it means Kotoko will not take part in the up-coming Ghalca top 4 tournament despite placing third in the just ended Glo premier league.
