Kotoko CEO Sorry For ?Racist? Comment

Kumasi Asante Kotoko?s CEO, Major (rtd) Yaw Larson has swiftly apologised for passing a disparaging comment about the club?s former coach Ernst Middendorp which has been described as ?racist?.

Responding to renewed claims by Middendorp that Kotoko owe him $50,000, Major (rtd) Yaw Larson said ?how could we just get around and pay money because a certain white man wants money to be paid?.

The comments by Larsen has drawn widespread criticism but the Kotoko CEO said he had not meant to pass a racist comment and apologised to the Hearts coach.

Middendorp who coached Kotoko between 2000 and early 2002 claims Kotoko owes him 50,000 dollars in unpaid bonuses and benefits. The German lodged a complaint at the Ghana Football Association who ordered Kotoko to pay back the money from the transfer fee of Isaac Boakye at a meeting attended by a Kotoko representative.

But the Kotoko CEO said they did not agree to pay the said money because there is no money from the Herbert Mensah administration which hired Middendorp.

The German has meanwhile threatened to take the matter up to Fifa if Kotoko do not pay the money by Friday.
