Kotoko Board Member Assaulted

Kumasi Asante Kotoko Board member, Kennedy Agyepong was last Saturday physically attacked by thugs suspected to be agents of one of the factions that were vying for the position of the Chief Executive Officer of the club.

The incident happened at Bantama, a suburb of Kumasi at about 10.pm.

The head of the Buffalo Unit of the Kumasi Police, Mr. Buabeng confirmed the story to the Soccer Express and confirmed that Agyepong had filed a report with his outfit.

"Mr. Agyepong has made a report of the attack to my outfit and we will pursue the matter," he promised.

Eyewitness accounts have it that the youngest member of the Kotoko Board was driving in his car when a car driven by his assailants ambushed him.

According Soccer Express investigations Agyepong for a moment thought the incident was not deliberate but was stunned when he was hooked at the neck by the attackers.

Scared, Agyepong managed to flee in his car and later made a report to the police.

The Police say that Agyepong was able to identify the assailants and that they would be acting on that to deal with the culprits.
