Kingson ruled out till May

After receiving treatment in France last week due to injury suffered during the African Cup of Nations held last January in Ghana, Ghanaian goalkeeper, Richard Kingson, has been ruled out of action till next month, May, when he will return to the field for football action.

The Ghanaian international, who has since return to his Birmingham base in England, spent almost a week receiving treatment at the Centre Medical of Clairefoneaine in Paris France and owned by the French Football Federation, revealed that he is hoping to recover in time to guide his national side, the Black Stars as they begin preparations for the 2010 World Cup in South Africa. According to Kingson, there have been some positive signs to his treatment since his return from France, something that testifies that he will soon return to the post.

This injury has robbed Kingson of first team place with his club side Birmingham City since his return from native Ghana after the Cup of Nation. He also failed to see full-time action during a recent friendly against Mexico in England, when he had to be substituted before the second half of that game by Ghanaian trainer Claude Le Roy due to this injury. He showered much praised on Dr. Le-Gall Franck, head of the Centre Medical of Clairefoneaine in Paris who was extending to him minute-by-minute treatment in France. He added that upon interaction, with Dr. Le-Gall, he got to know that fellow national teammates, Michael Essien and Sulley Muntari have always visited the centre whenever they pick-up serious injury.

The medical centre, which was set-up by the French Football Federation, also appears to be the home of almost all international footballers plying their trade in France as they always seek treatment there after sustaining injury. The ultra modern medical centre also houses all French national side before major tournament as players are taken through intensive physical training and medical examination, something that Kingson will love the Ghana Football Association to set-up in the future.

Kingson however thanked officials of the Ghana Football Association, notably President Kwasi Nyantakyi, Fred Pappoe, Alex Asante, protocol officer and Charles Botwe for their support and prayers via phone calls during his stay in France for treatment.
